There are currently three “Welcome to Linda Vista” monuments that greet residents and visitors to our Linda Vista community. One is located near the intersection of Genesee Avenue and Linda Vista Road, another is on Morena Boulevard near the intersection with Napa, while the third one can be found near the intersection of Ulric Street and Friars Road. They all effectively express the spirit of the community, bearing the Heart of Linda Vista logo and the slogans “Home of the University of San Diego” and “The People Make Our Community Great.”
But I recently started thinking…what if a fourth monument was built? What additional sentiment might such a fourth monument allow us to express? What new catchphrase could adequately express our community’s spirit, while at the same time serving as an effective marketing tool to greet and attract more visitors?
In order to answer these questions, The Linda Vista Update assembled a Sloganeering Task Force to brainstorm some fresh LV slogan ideas.
Here is a list of suggestions the Sloganeering Task Force came up with while feverishly meeting in-between innings of the recent Padres-Dodgers playoff baseball games. Some of these suggestions are more flattering than others. And some lean more toward the whimsical than the serious. In any case, check them out and see if you can identify a preference. Or leave a comment with your own suggestions. You never know when someone at City Hall might give the okay to build that fourth monument.
