We will publish our regular newsletter issue this coming Thursday morning.
Love, Linda Vista Inc. and the Bayside Community Center are teaming up this Thursday afternoon (February 15 ) to hold a Lunar New Year celebration. The public is encouraged to attend and enjoy all the activities.
The celebration will be held in conjunction with the weekly Love, Linda Vista Farmers Market, which operates every Thursday at the Linda Vista Plaza Shopping Center. The Farmers Market will open for business beginning at 2:00 pm with Lunar New Year festivities commencing at 5:15 pm.
In addition to the special festivities, the Farmers Market will feature farmers booths selling fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as vendors offering different ethic foods and arts and crafts. The Live Well on Wheels bus (Live Wow) will be in attendance to offer access to health and community services, to include vaccines.

Lion Tutorial for Lunar New Year Celebration
We want to make sure all of our newsletter readers fully appreciate the festivities that will be held at Thursday’s Lunar New Year celebration. Accordingly, Love, Linda Vista board president Jonathan Widener forwarded the following beginner’s guide to the Lion Dance, previously published as a collaborative project between San Francisco’s Chinatown and the San Francisco Library. You can see further instructions on the web site called ireny draws. Check it out in the next few days, and then come to the celebration. Rest assured, if you want to feed lettuce or cabbage to the lion, there will be plenty available for purchase at the Farmers Market.
Volunteer for the Linda Vista Planning Group
The Linda Vista Community Planning Group (LVCPG) is looking for volunteers to serve with this civic organization. Applications to serve on the LVCPG are due at the February meeting and election takes place concurrent with the March meeting. The LVCPG meets the fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 pm at American Post 731 on Linda Vista Road and Genesee Avenue. Planning groups are citizen organizations that advise the City on land use-based community goals and development proposals, general or community plan amendments, rezoning, and public facilities. They provide important feedback to the City about future growth and community needs.
The LVCPG consists of 21 elected member positions.
As explained by Felicity Senoski, Chairperson of the LVCPG, “Serving on the Planning Group is a great opportunity to contribute to the community in a meaningful way.” If you are interested in volunteering to serve on the LVCPG, click HERE for the application.
